Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) is part of the Department of Health and offers professional and specialised services to assist children, young people and adults affected by family violence. This operational service is part of the Safe at Home initiative.
FVCSS has offices in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart: appointments can also be made to see clients in other locations. All FVCSS services are voluntary and free of cost.
Services include:
- Information, counselling and support
- Safety planning
- Information to other services supporting people affected by family violence
- Assistance to access Police
- Referrals and advocacy in organising a safe place to stay
- Referrals to other Safe at Home partner agencies, legal services, financial services and the community sector
- Therapeutic Group work programs
- Liaison with Government and non-government sector on behalf of clients

1800 RESPECT
A telephone and online counselling service providing support for:
- People experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, sexual assault, domestic or family violence
- Their friends and family
- Workers and professionals supporting someone experiencing, or at risk of experiencing sexual assault, domestic or family violence

Daisy app
Daisy is a free app developed by 1800RESPECT to connect people experiencing violence or abuse to services in their local area. Daisy can be downloaded for free from iTunes or Google Play. Once the app is on your phone, you can use it to search for support services in your local area. Choose the type of service you would like and select your state or territory to find services near you.

The SafeChoices program is a state-wide initiative with a primary focus on improved safety of all Tasmanian community members, through the raising of community awareness around the issues of Family Violence. It provides practical support, advice and referral to support services, for those people experiencing Family Violence, through providing the following services:
- A website which will provide information around Family Violence and support services available.
- E-mail support available to all members of the community.
- Phone support through a 1800 number.
- Information packs.
- One to one support from a case worker for those people experiencing multiple needs.

Engender Equality
Engender Equality is a state-wide, Tasmanian not-for-profit, organisation. Engender Equality offers mid to long-term therapeutic counselling to people who have experienced intimate partner violence.
Engender Equality’s therapeutic, counselling is:
- Free and confidential
- Offers mid to long term engagement over a two-year time period
- Accessible face-to-face, by phone and/or online using Zoom
- For people who have, or are, experiencing intimate partner violence
- For all people regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, marital or economic status, cultural, religious or ethnic background

Yemaya Women’s Support Service
This is a free and confidential service located in Launceston that provides post-crisis, medium to long term counselling and support to women who are experiencing, or have experienced, abuse from an intimate partner. Yemaya supports all women inclusive of religion, identity, ability, sexuality, social background, or culture. Services include one-on-one counselling and support, group programs, information, and referral.

The Huon Domestic Violence Service

The Huon Domestic Violence Service is a small team of specialist family violence workers who have a complex understanding of family violence in rural communities. The service covers the Huon Valley Local Government Area and can support any one in the community impacted by or experiencing family violence.
The Huon Domestic Violence Service has a client centred framework to undertake comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning, access to resources and advocacy. Free confidential therapeutic counselling, arts-based recovery group work, Shark Cage program for young women and adult women in the community.
The service also provides educational and awareness programs to the community that aim to prevent or bring awareness to DFV in the Huon Valley.

Relationship Abuse of an Intimate Nature (RAIN)
RAIN is a free service that supports people who have been impacted by intimate partner violence. We provide client-centred case management that can include advocacy, safety planning and counselling. RAIN is available to people living on the North West and West Coast of Tasmania by staff based in our offices in Devonport, Burnie and Zeehan.

Arch

Arch is a safe place where you can get information and support if you are affected by sexual harm as a result of sexual violence.
At Arch, services and organisations that support people affected by sexual harm work together under the one roof to provide coordinated and collaborative, trauma-informed and victim-centred support.
Arch is located in Launceston and Hobart.

RSPCA Safe Beds Program
Pets and service animals are also a part of the lives of many families. This means they are an important part of the decision-making process when women consider leaving a violent situation.
The RSPCA Safe Beds Program provides foster care for pets of people who are experiencing housing insecurity due to family violence.

Eligible Persons Register

The Eligible Persons Register (formerly the Victims Register) is an automated database run by Victims Support Services that allows victims - if they choose - to be given information about an offender's location and progress in the prison system.
Anyone who is the victim of a violent crime, committed in Tasmania, where the offender has received a prison sentence by the courts can be included on the Eligible Persons Register.
